The Many Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) has been highly regarded throughout history. In 400 BC, Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, used it for its amazing natural detox cleansing, healing, and energizing qualities. Hippocrates prescribed Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with honey for its health properties.

ACV fights germs and bacteria, and assists with coughs and colds, flu, sore throats, sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, arthritis, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. It contains malic acid and is helpful in fighting fungal and bacterial infections.

ACV is loaded with potassium, and beta carotene. Potassium deficiency causes a variety of ailments such as hair loss, weak finger nails, brittle teeth, sinusitis, chronic runny nose.

ACV also helps extract calcium from fruit, meat and vegetable it's mixed with, helping to maintain strong bones. The pectin in the vinegar helps regulate blood pressure and reduce LDL ("bad" cholesterol).

ACV also adds flavor to salads, marinades, vegetable dishes and homemade dressings. ACV lowers the glycemic index of foods.

Internal benefits:
- rich in enzymes and potassium
- supports a healthy immune system
- helps control weight (breaks down fat)
- promotes digestion and pH balance
- helps soothe dry throats
- helps removed body sludge toxins

External benefits:
- helps maintain healthy skin
- helps promote youthful, healthy bodies
- soothes irritated skin
- relieves muscle pain from exercise

It is suggested to mix 2 tablespoons of ACV and honey in water first thing in the morning. I know...I know...it sounds like it would taste a little on the acidic side, but that's one of the reasons for the honey, which also has many health benefits in it's own right. When you see how much better you feel (and look), and your constipation and headaches are no longer an issue, you'll be hooked. If you feel pale, drinking this mixture every day can bring a healthy, rosy glow to the complexion.

At LNH, we believe Bragg's ACV is top-notch. It's made from organically grown apples and is Certified Organic, Certified KSA Kosher, raw, unfiltered, unheated, unpasteurized and has 5% acidity. It also contains the amazing Mother of Vinegar, which occurs naturally as strand-like enzymes of connected protein molecules and gives quality ACV it's cloudy appearance.

You can purchase Bragg's ACV at GNC, the Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods Markets, or ask for it at your local health food store and better grocery stores. It retails for about $3.29 for 16 oz.

If you can't find Bragg's, there are others out there. Just make sure it's cloudy, a brown-tinged color and organic. Trader Joe's sells an organic ACV, too.
